Frank Duffy, who started the night batting .199, belted two homers and Wayne Garland allowed only five hits while pitching the Indians to a 4-2 victory over the Orioles in a game stopped by rain after 6½ innings. Duffy rapped his first round-tripper in the third inning.

After the Orioles went ahead, 2-1, the Indians erupted for two runs in the fourth on singles by Paul Dade, Buddy Bell and Ron Pruitt and a double by Fred Kendall. Duffy concluded the scoring with his second homer of the game in the fifth. [The Sporting News]
