Warren Cromartie drove in two runs with his first major league homer and Gary Carter accounted for two other tallies as the Expos defeated the Mets, 4-3. After the Mets took the lead with a two-run single by John Milner in the third, Tony Perez tripled for the Expos in the fourth and beat the throw home when Carter grounded to Bud Harrelson.

Carter was safe at first on the fielder's choice and trotted across the plate when Cromartie followed with his homer. Carter knocked in what proved to be the winning run with a single in the fifth that scored Chris Speier, offsetting a run by the Mets in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
