Led by Rico Carty, who smashed a homer and single, the Indians fired away for 11 hits and beat the Royals, 6-3, before staging a fireworks show for the crowd of 54,690, their largest turnout of the season. The Indians bunched five hits for three runs in the second inning and then broke a 3-3 tie with Carty's homer in the third. Carty's single added one of the Indians' last two runs in the seventh.
