The Angels broke Vida Blue's string of 12 straight victories in Anaheim Stadium, routing their nemesis in the second inning and defeating the Athletics, 6-0. Wayne Simpson and Dyar Miller combined on the shutout. Miller, who hurled the last four frames and allowed only one hit, recorded his first save with the Angels.
