Carlton Fisk drove in three runs with a sacrifice fly and homer, while Jim Rice also hit a homer, as the Red Sox defeated the Blue Jays, 5-2. Fisk lofted his sacrifice fly in the first inning and Rice homered in the fifth to help the Red Sox take a 3-0 lead before Doug Rader accounted for the Blue Jays' runs with a circuit clout in the sixth. Rice, who had three hits, doubled in the seventh and Fisk clinched the victory with his homer. [The Sporting News]
