Thurman Munson knocked in two runs with a homer and two more with a single to pace the Yankees to a 7-5 victory over the Orioles, who were stopped on their seven-game winning streak. Graig Nettles accounted for three RBIs with a double and homer. Munson's round-tripper after a single by Willie Randolph in the third inning broke a 2-2 tie.

Randolph doubled for his third hit of the game in the fifth, Paul Blair beat out a bunt and Munson drove them home with his single. The Orioles pulled within reach with a three-run homer by Eddie Murray in the seventh, but Nettles' circuit clout in the ninth sealed the decision for the Yankees. [The Sporting News]
