Posting his fourth shutout of the season, Nolan Ryan allowed only four hits and pitched the Angels to a 3-0 victory over the Twins. Paul Thormodsgard also allowed only four hits, but an error by the Twins' pitcher and another by Rod Carew enabled the Angels to score two unearned runs in the first inning.
