Continuing his torrid hitting, Frank White smashed a three-run homer to help the Royals defeat the Yankees, 7-4, for their fourth straight victory. After the Yankees took a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning, the Royals erupted for five runs in their half. White hit his homer after singles by Darrell Porter and Fred Patek. George Brett was safe on an error and, on a hit-and-run play, scored from first base on a single by Amos Otis. Al Cowens followed with a double to drive in Otis. [The Sporting News]
