The Expos continued to receive dividends for their acquisition of Stan Bahnsen from the Athletics when the righthander pitched a three-hitter and shut out the Cardinals, 3-0. The victory was Bahnsen's fourth straight and his fifth with the Expos against two defeats. The Expos counted all their runs off Larry Dierker in the first inning. Chris Speier homered with one away.
