Vida Blue won his fourth straight for the A's, outdueling Frank Tanana and the Angels, 2-1. California's only run came in the fourth when Bobby Bonds doubled and eventually scored on Don Baylor's infield out. Tanana made it stand up until the eighth, when Tony Armas singled and was sacrificed to second.
