The Brewers tacked on seven runs in the ninth, Sal Bando and Ken McMullen contributing RBI singles and Von Joshua a two-run double. Don Money gave the Brewers a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth with a two-run homer, but the Red Sox scored three times in the bottom of the inning on run-producing singles by Rick Miller and Fred Lynn and a bases-loaded walk to Jim Rice.
