The Royals came from behind in the ninth with two runs to tie the score on a bunt single by John Mayberry, triple by Amos Otis and suicide squeeze by Bob Heise, then pushed across the deciding tally with nobody out in the 11th to edge the Indians, 5-4. Heise, Joe Zdeb and George Brett stroked consecutive singles to account for the winning run. [The Sporting News]
