A grand-slam homer by Bill Robinson in the eighth inning carried the Pirates to a 10-6 victory over the Braves. Trailing, 6-5, the Pirates opened the stanza with singles by Fernando Gonzalez and Jim Fregosi, Gonzalez taking third on Fregosi's hit.

Ed Ott grounded to Cito Gaston, who threw wildly to the plate, allowing Gonzalez to score the tying run. After Mario Mendoza sacrificed, Dave Parker was handed an intentional pass to load the bases before Robinson whacked his homer off Dave Campbell. [The Sporting News]
