Denny Doyle singled in the 10th inning, took third on a single by Rick Burleson and scored on a sacrifice fly by Fred Lynn to bring the Red Sox a 3-2 victory over the Mariners. The Red Sox scored their first two runs in the fourth when Jim Rice singled and George Scott homered.
