With a helping hand from Don Stanhouse in the ninth inning, Jackie Brown pitched the Expos to a 4-2 victory over the Giants. The Expos put together a double by Tony Perez and singles by Andre Dawson and Warren Cromartie while scoring three times off Jim Barr in the second inning. Ellis Valentine made it 4-1 with a homer in the third.

Brown was lifted after giving up singles by Gary Thomasson and Willie McCovey with one out in the ninth. Stanhouse got Vic Harris on a grounder as one run scored and then retired Tim Foli on a fly to end the game. [The Sporting News]
