The Braves put together four singles and an infield out for three runs in the third inning and defeated the Expos, 5-2. Warren Cromartie singled and Gary Carter homered for the Expos in the second. After picking up one run in their half of the second, the Braves took the lead in the third with successive singles by Rowland Office, Barry Bonnell, Willie Montanez and Jeff Burroughs, plus an infield out by Gary Matthews.
