Three homers that accounted for six runs powered the Angels to a 9-5 victory over the Orioles, who lost despite a grand slam by Ken Singleton. Bobby Bonds started the Angels' slugging with a solo shot in the first inning. Don Baylor connected with two men on base in the third and Ron Jackson added a two-run blow in the fifth.

Ken Brett was tagged for 10 hits and was kayoed in the eighth by Singleton's jackpot wallop, but gained his fourth straight victory after losing his first four decisions with the Angels following his acquisition from the White Sox. [The Sporting News]
