Bobby Bonds' fifth homer in as many consecutive games marked the Angels' attack on Jim Palmer while defeating the Orioles, 6-3. The Orioles scored all their runs in the fifth inning on singles by Ken Rudolph and Billy Smith and a sacrifice fly by Tony Muser, but Palmer blew the lead in the sixth when the Angels rallied for four runs.

A single by Don Baylor and double by Dave Chalk accounted for two tallies before Rance Mulliniks drove in two more with a single for the rookie's third hit of the game. Bonds hit his homer in the seventh following a single by Jerry Remy to clinch the decision. [The Sporting News]
