Gene Tenace drove in three runs with a pair of homers and Dave Winfield accounted for two runs with a single as the Padres defeated the Expos, 8-3. Gene Tenace led off the sixth inning with his first homer of the game to break a 2-2 tie. After two outs, Dave Freisleben and Gene Richards singled and both Bill Almon and Mike Ivie walked to force in another run before Winfield hit his single.
