A two-run homer by Hal McRae and two-run single by Frank White carried the Royals to a 4-3 victory over the Rangers. Gaylord Perry, who pitched for the Rangers and struck out 13, was handed a 2-0 lead but lost his advantage when George Brett walked and McRae homered in the third inning.
