Ken Singleton smashed a three-run homer and Elliott Maddox connected for the circuit with a man on base to power the Orioles to a 5-4 victory over the Mariners, who also had two round-trippers to account for their scoring. Juan Bernhardt singled and Leroy Stanton homered for the Mariners in the first inning, but the Orioles took the lead with Singleton's shot in their half. Carlos Lopez tied the score with a four-bagger in the second before Billy Smith walked in the third and Maddox won the game with his first homer since 1975. [The Sporting News]
