Backed by a 15-hit attack, including a homer and double by Bill Robinson, who drove in four runs, Odell Jones turned in his first major league complete game and pitched the Pirates to a 9-1 victory over the Mets. Jones yielded only five hits, with the Mets' run coming on a pinch-homer by Ron Hodges.

Rennie Stennett went 4-for-4 in the Pirates' attack. Robinson homered following a walk to Dave Parker in the first inning and doubled after a pass to Phil Garner and single by Parker in the sixth. Parker had two hits and batted safely in his 22nd straight game. [The Sporting News]
