Helped by an error, the Orioles rallied for three runs in the ninth and defeated the Mariners, 4-3. Leroy Stanton hit a two-run homer in the eighth to put the Mariners ahead, 3-1. In the Orioles' ninth, Pat Kelly walked with one out, leading to the exit of Glenn Abbott. Enrique Romo relieved.

Billy Smith grounded to Dan Meyer, who threw wildly in an attempt to start a double play. Kelly wound up at third and scored on a sacrifice fly by Tony Muser. Ken Singleton doubled, Smith stopping at third. Lee May then singled, driving in the tying and winning runs. [The Sporting News]
