Infrequently used Andres Mora continued to produce for the Orioles when the outfielder from Mexico hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning to beat the Athletics, 5-4. Mora, appearing in only his 40th game this season, boasted seven homers, one triple and four doubles among his 12 hits in 97 at-bats with 20 RBIs.

The A's held a 3-2 lead against Ross Grimsley before Ken Singleton and Lee May walked in the sixth and Mora hit his homer off Doc Medich. Grimsley was tagged for a homer by Tim Hosley in the ninth before yielding the mound to Tippy Martinez, who retired the last two batters. [The Sporting News]
