With Craig Kusick hitting two homers and driving in five runs, the Twins trimmed the Orioles, 13-9, and regained the lead in the American League West. Kusick's second round-tripper, a two-run blow, climaxed a five-run sixth inning. Andres Mora hit two round-trippers for the Orioles as the two clubs tied the Memorial Stadium single-game record of seven homers set July 26, 1966, when the Indians defeated the Orioles, 7-4.
