Dennis Leonard tossed a four-hitter while Wayne Garland lost on his first two pitches of the game as the Royals defeated the Indians, 4-0. Tom Poquette doubled on Garland's first delivery. Hal McRae tripled on the next serve and continued home when the relay throw by Larvell Blanks bounced into the stands.
