Dock Ellis allowed only three hits and retired 18 straight batters at one stretch of his performance while pitching the Rangers to an 8-0 victory over the Blue Jays. After Roy Howell singled in the first inning and Steve Staggs in the third, the Blue Jays went hitless until Bob Bailor doubled with two out in the ninth.
