Frank Tanana gained his 15th victory when Jerry Remy hit his third single of the game in the seventh inning and drove in the Angels' tie-breaking run to beat the Blue Jays, 3-2. Tanana walked Doug Ault with the bases loaded to hand a run to the Blue Jays in the first inning, but the Angels came back with a pair in their half off Jeff Byrd on singles by Gil Flores and Remy, a double by Bobby Bonds and two walks. Doug Rader tied the score with an inside-the-park homer in the fifth on a fly that center fielder Don Baylor apparently lost in the sun. The Angels put over the winning run in the eighth on a double by Terry Humphrey and Remy's single. [The Sporting News] |
