Bruce Kison rapped three hits, drove in one run and set up another with the first stolen base of his career while pitching the Pirates to a 3-1 victory over the Padres. Ed Ott doubled and scored on a single by Kison in the third inning. Kison doubled in the fifth, pilfered third and came home on a single by Frank Taveras, who had four hits in the game.
