Milt May hit homers in two consecutive times at bat, with his second smash accounting for the Tigers' 7-6 victory over the Angels. The Tigers also had a homer by Jason Thompson in the second inning. The Angels scored two runs in the fifth and went ahead with two more in the sixth on a homer by Tony Solaita and RBI double by Rance Mulliniks.

May tied the score in the Tigers' half with his first homer of the game. After the clubs forged another tie at 6-6, May accounted for the victory with his second homer in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
