All of the Phillies' runs were unearned as Steve Carlton posted his 19th victory of the season, beating the Braves, 6-1. The Braves scored on a single by Pat Rockett and triple by Rod Gilbreath in the fifth inning, but catcher's interference by Biff Pocoroba on Carlton opened the gates for four runs in the Phillies' half.
