The Orioles, who had lost to Frank Tanana three times previously this season, beat the Angels' ace lefthander, 4-3, on a homer by Doug DeCinces in the eighth inning. The Angels tagged Dennis Martinez for all their runs in the third on a walk to Terry Humphrey, single by Thad Bosley, triple by Jerry Remy and sacrifice fly by Bobby Bonds. The Orioles, who had been shut out in their last two encounters with Tanana, broke his hold with two runs in the fourth and one in the seventh before DeCinces homered. [The Sporting News]
