. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Lou Piniella hit a two-run homer for the Yankees' deciding blow in the sixth inning and Reggie Jackson added two runs with a double in the seventh to clinch a 7-4 victory over the Twins. Piniella's poke, following a pass to Chris Chambliss, put the Yankees ahead, 5-2. Jackson's two-bagger drove in Paul Blair, who had singled, and Roy White, who had reached base on an error. Rod Carew hit two homers and a single for the Twins in four times at bat and produced three of their runs. [The Sporting News]
