Homers by Bob Stinson and Leroy Stanton produced five runs and powered the Mariners to a 6-2 victory over the Blue Jays. Jesse Jefferson, pitching for the Blue Jays, allowed only two hits and had a 2-0 lead going into the seventh inning when Ruppert Jones doubled and scored on a single by Bill Stein. Stinson then put the Mariners ahead with his homer. Stanton's smash after passes to Julio Cruz and Jones wrapped up the decision in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
