. . . where the 1970s live forever!

George Foster cracked four hits, including his 45th homer, and Dan Driessen drove in three runs with a pair of singles as the Reds snapped the Phillies' 16-game home winning streak, 5-2. The Reds jumped on Jim Kaat for two runs in the first inning on a single by Driessen after hits by Pete Rose and Foster and a walk to Johnny Bench had loaded the bases.

Foster hit his homer in the fifth. Driessen singled for his third RBI of the game in the seventh and Joe Morgan produced the Reds' last run with a single in the eighth. Fred Norman limited the Phillies to seven hits, including a homer by Garry Maddox. [The Sporting News]
