. . . where the 1970s live forever!

In a meeting of two outstanding candidates for Rookie of the Year honors, Mitchell Page smashed two homers off Dave Rozema and drove in four runs to pace the Athletics to a 7-5 victory over the Tigers. Page connected for a solo shot in the first inning and followed with a three-run blast in the fifth.

The A's outfielder also rapped a single in four trips, giving him 11 hits in his last 23 at-bats. Jerry Tabb added a homer to cap the A's scoring in the eighth. Steve Kemp hit an inside-the-park homer with a man on base for the Tigers. [The Sporting News]
