Four homers powered the Mariners to a 7-2 victory, completing a sweep of the three-game series with the Blue Jays. Leroy Stanton connected for the circuit with a man on base in the first inning. Ruppert Jones added two runs with a drive in third.

The Mariners then knocked out Jerry Garvin with back-to-back blows by Steve Braun and Jimmy Sexton in the fifth. Sexton's homer was his first in the major leagues since coming up from San Jose (Pacific Coast). Ron Fairly hit a homer for the Blue Jays' first run and scored the second after rapping a double.
