Dusty Baker belted a three-run homer in the sixth inning to enable Tommy John to pitch the Dodgers to a 4-1 victory over the Reds. John gave up the Reds' run in the fourth on a pass to Ken Griffey and singles by Joe Morgan and George Foster. Baker's homer off Fred Norman followed a single by Reggie Smith and walk to Steve Garvey. The Dodgers added an extra run in the ninth when Dave Lopes walked, stole second and scored on a single by Bill Russell. [The Sporting News]
