Aided by four unearned runs, the Rangers won the first game of a twi-night doubleheader, 5-2, before powering their way to a 7-1 victory over the Mariners in the second game. In the opener, the Rangers capitalized on an error by Craig Reynolds for a run in the first inning and loaded the bases on another miscue by the shortstop in the fourth. Toby Harrah then drove in one run with a sacrifice fly and Ken Henderson plated a pair with a single. Leroy Stanton homered with a man on base for the Mariners.
