A triple steal highlighted the Braves' scoring in a 7-3 victory over the Padres. Gene Richards and Jerry Turner hit homers for the Padres to help effect a 3-3 tie, but the Braves beat Randy Jones with a run in the sixth inning on two walks and a single by Pat Rockett. The Braves then loaded the bases against Dan Spillner in the the eighth and worked their triple steal with Gary Matthews scoring. Barry Bonnell followed with a single for the last two runs.
