A wild throw by Joaquin Andujar on a pickoff attempt in the eighth inning resulted in the Astros losing to the Giants, 2-1, for only their third defeat in the last 17 games, Enos Cabell homered off Ed Halicki for the Astros' run in the third. The Giants tied the score with a triple by Derrel Thomas and infield hit by Bill Madlock in the sixth. Thomas singled with two out in the eighth, took second on Andujar's error and scored on a single by Rob Andrews. [The Sporting News]
