Davey Lopes singled with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth to give the Dodgers a 3-2 victory over the Braves. The hit came after Dusty Baker opened the frame with a single off Eddie Solomon. Rick Monday then walked and Dave Campbell relieved on the mound.

The Braves missed on a try for a forceout at third on Jerry Grote's sacrifice bunt. One out later, Lopes smacked the ball over drawn-in center fielder Barry Bonnell's head. The Braves had an early 2-0 lead, but the Dodgers got a pair of unearned runs in the seventh on a wild pitch and Manny Mota's bunt single. [The Sporting News]
