. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Eddie Murray belted his 22nd homer of the season to give the Orioles a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning and they went on to down the Red Sox, 6-1. The blast tied the club record for most homers by a rookie. Ken Singleton doubled in two runs in the fifth and Lee May hit a two-run homer in the eighth. Jim Palmer, in trouble the last four frames, stranded six runners from the sixth inning on. [The Sporting News]
