The Cardinals defeated the Expos in the second game of a twi-night doubleheader, 8-2, to end their seven-game string of Olympic Stadium losses. The Expos won the opener, 4-2, behind the four-hit pitching of Wayne Twitchell. Lou Brock and Ted Simmons each hit two-run homers in the nightcap. [The Sporting News]
