A single by Cesar Geronimo and pass to Champ Summers touched off the Reds' outburst and led to the departure of Braves' starter Preston Hanna.

After Dave Campbell relieved, Mike Lum walked to load the bases and, after one out, Ray Knight broke the 1-1 tie with a two-run single. Ken Griffey followed with a single to drive in Lum.
