. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Mark Fidrych gave up a two-run homer to Al Oliver in the first inning but then settled down and allowed just six runners to reach first as the Tigers edged the Rangers, 3-2. The first Tiger run was engineered through singles by Steve Kemp and Charlie Spikes and a double by Aurelio Rodriguez. A homer by Lance Parrish tied the score in the fifth and the Tigers then put over the winning tally in the seventh on singles by Rodriguez, Mark Wagner and Ron LeFlore. [The Sporting News]
