. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Bob Stinson drove in three runs in the opener and slugged a two-run homer in the nightcap to lead the Mariners to an 8-5 and 7-2 doubleheader sweep of the Twins. The first-game victory snapped a Mariner eight-game losing streak. In the opener, the Mariners got four runs in the first with Stinson's two-run single as the big hit of the inning. The Seattle catcher also drove home a fifth-inning run with the double.

In the nightcap, Stinson hit his homer after a walk to Craig Reynolds to spark a five-run outburst in the third inning. Jose Baez followed with a single and after three straight balls, Dan Meyer hit a bases-loaded single. [The Sporting News]
