Mark Lemongello allowed only six hits in going the distance for the second time in four starts as the Astros downed the Padres, 4-3. A walk to Roger Metzger, Lemongello's sacrifice, Terry Puhl's single and Enos Cabell's groundout gave the Astros a run in the third inning.

Houston broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth on a solo homer by Joe Ferguson, single by Metzger, a sacrifice and a single by Cabell. Their final tally came in the sixth when Jose Cruz singled, stole second and scored on Art Howe's single. [The Sporting News]
