Ed Figueroa allowed only five hits and at one stretch retired 15 straight batters while pitching the Yankees to a 3-1 victory over the Twins. The Yankees bunched four singles for two runs in the second inning and added their insurance counter in the fifth on singles by Bucky Dent and Mickey Rivers around a wild pickoff throw by Paul Thormodsgard.
