The winning run scored on a bases-loaded walk as the Orioles outlasted the White Sox, 8-7. With the score tied in the eighth inning, 7-7, Mark Belanger got an infield single to start the inning. Kiko Garcia ran for Belanger and was sacrificed to second. Al Bumbry was hit by a pitch and Rich Dauer bounced an apparent double-play grounder to Mike Eden. But the shortstop bobbled the ball and the bases were loaded. Gary Roenicke then walked to force in Garcia.
